Insights Flash: New Doordash Deal Could Double Delivery Sales, Per Consumer Edge Data

Domino’s Pizza (DPZ) recently announced a new partnership with Doordash, allowing orders to be placed on their marketplace but fulfilled by the existing Domino’s delivery network. This comes over a year after their nationwide launch of Ubereats, with aspirations for this partnership to account for 3% of system-wide sales by the end of 2025. Per today’s press release, Domino’s management views the delivery aggregator market as a $1 billion opportunity.

According to Consumer Edge US transaction data, Doordash’s market share is 2x Ubereats. This could mean that the new Doordash partnership could account for up to 6% of system-wide sales following a successful rollout.

Other peers within the quick service pizza sub-industry like Pizza Hut and Papa John’s had an even higher figure through Doordash in 2024. The channel accounted for 13% and 8% for Papa John’s and Pizza Hut, respectively. It’s worth noting that Papa John’s, like Domino’s, also delivers their own orders placed through aggregators.
